(ATR) The finals of the Liebherr 2017 Table Tennis World Championships will draw capacity crowds this weekend, International Table Tennis Federation President Thomas Weikert tells Around the Rings.

Weikert speaks with ATR Editor Ed Hula from Dusseldorf, Germany about the championship, which comes to a close June 6.

In addition to the sports action, Weikert talks about his re-election to the ITTF presidency and his priorities for a second four-year term. Ahead of the June 9 meeting of the IOC Executive Board which will review the proposals from the summer sport federations to add new events to the Tokyo Olympics, Weikert explains what table tennis is proposing to add.

And with the growing possibility that both Paris and Los Angeles will be selected at the same time in September to host the 2024 and 2028 Olympics, Weikert offers his thoughts on how those cities stack up for Olympic table tennis.
