(ATR)ANTA Sports unveils the PyeongChang 2018 award ceremony outfit for China’s Winter Olympics team.

The official unveiling was held this week in Beijing, with Chinese Olympic Committee Vice-President Li Yingchuan receiving the "Champion Dragon Outfit" from ANTA Sports chairman and CEO Ding Shizhong.

ANTA Sports has been a partner of the COC since 2009, during which time the company developed the award ceremony outfits for the past four Olympic Games.

On Sept. 28, ANTA Sports became the Official Partner of Sports Apparel for the Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The marketing period for the official partners covers multiple international sports events from 2017-2024 administered by the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee including PyeongChang 2018, Tokyo 2020, Beijing 2022 and Paris 2024.

The company says in a statement that its cooperation with the COC for PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022 is the continuation of ANTA Sports’ Olympic strategy. It is also the beginning of an effort to respond to China’s "snow and ice" initiative, to actively cultivate the winter sport population.

China Unicom Joins Beijing 2022

The fifth Official Partner for the 2022 Winter Olympics comes from the telecommunications sector.

China Unicom will provide all telecommunication services for the Beijing 2022 Games. The two entities announced the agreement at a signing ceremony in Beijing this week.

Beijing 2022 said it believes the sponsorship will bring "smart" communication technologies to the Games, as well as "build more connections within and outside China". China Unicom will receive "the wide range of benefits that come with the Olympic brand," Beijing 2022 organizers said in a statement.

"China Unicom will provide best services for the staging of successful Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing in 2022," Wang Xiaochu, Chairman of China Unicom, said during the signing ceremony. "The technologies of China Unicom will connect the athletes and the cheering spectators and television viewers, and connect a hospitable China with the world."

As part of the Olympic sponsorship China Unicom is unveiling new mobile phone numbers that start with the number "166." China Unicom says they will release one million of the new mobile numbers as part of a "longstanding commitment to serving Chinese telecommunications and Olympic endeavors."

Beijing 2022 began its marketing program this year and signed five official partners. Joining China Unicom on the program are Bank of China, Air China, Yili Group and ANTA.
