ANOC President Prioritizes Goals
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah has sent a letter to all 205 member NOCs of the Association of National Olympic Committees asking for their input to help reshape the vision and objectives of ANOC.
The move followed his first Executive Council gathering as chairman since his election as ANOC president in Moscow last month. Monday's meeting was held at IOC headquarters in Lausanne.
A statement on the Olympic Council of Asia website says the council was sending letters inviting feedback from its members "on the future of ANOC and priorities they feel ANOC should address".
Members unanimously approved the election of Raja Randhir Singh as vice president of ANOC from Asia and Yu Zaiqing as member of the council from Asia.
The meeting concluded with resolutions to form a working group for the redrafting of the constitution and another one to work on the modernization of ANOC.
The next ANOC Executive Council meeting is scheduled for London on the sidelines of the Olympics.
