(ATR) The sixth edition of the City Events conference will provide an open forum for leaders of the Olympic movement to discuss the Olympic Agenda 2020 reforms brought about by IOC president Thomas Bach.
The conference will feature a keynote panel discussion with past and future host city delegates where members describe the impact of Agenda 2020 on host cities and territories.
On the second day of the conference, members of the IOC and international federations will attend a workshop with private event organizers to discuss and debate the global influence of these reforms.
City Events has also announced the first round of confirmed speakers at the event, including UCI business development managerJérôme Lacroix, president of the French Referee Association Patrick Vajda and head of engagement and legacy for Glasgow 2014 Paul Zealey. The conference will be held from November 17-18 in Paris, France.
Inaugural TV Sports Awards One Week Away
In coordination with the Sportel Monaco conference taking place October 12-15, Sportel and charity organization Play for Change are hosting an awards ceremony for television personalities in the sports industry.
The first edition of the event will be dubbed the TV Sports Awards and will take place on the first day of the Sportel Monaco conference at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
The awards ceremony is in support of Play for Change, a global charity organization that provides opportunities in sports for numerous disadvantaged youths.
There will be five categories of awards, including:Best Sports Broadcaster, Best Live Event Coverage, Best Digital Media Project, Media Executive of the Year and Best TV Rights Deal.
Play for Change will also give an award to an individual athlete who actively supports, funds or advances initiatives for change for disadvantaged young people through the use of sports.
Three Finalists for Peace & Sport Documentary Prize
Peace and Sport will deliver their first Documentary Prize to one of three finalists on Monday, October 12 during the Sportel awards ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum.
Each of the three finalists' documentaries was chosen due to their emphasis on the positive role of sports in promoting peace.
The three finalists are Thomas Goltz for Aggregate, the story of a football team from Azerbaijan that has not played a home game in over 20 years;Marion Poizeau for Into the Sea, the story of three women who try to introduce sport to a remote region of Iran; andBarney Douglas for Warrions, a documentary about a group of Maasai who form a cricket team in Kenya.
Champion for Peace and former English rugby player Dan Luger will present the inaugural Documentary Prize.
