The World Curling Federation and iX.co — the digital company of InFront Sports and Media — have extended their partnership until the summer of 2022.
With the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2022 being held in Beijing, China, the Federation aims to continue the growth of its award winning Sina Weibo channel while also providing additional content developed specifically for the Chinese audience.
iX.co will continue to work with Beijing-based All Star Partner to deliver World Curling's Sina Weibo channel. This new enhanced partnership will see iX.co's content creation team attending the Beijing 2022 test events — the World Junior Curing Championships 2021 and World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2021 — to develop in-competition content for the Chinese audience.
World Curling Federation President, Kate Caithness said: "We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with iX.co and are excited to bring more engaging content to our curling family in China. The growth of our Sina Weibo channel in its first year was incredible and we look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the lead up to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022."
"iX.co and All Star Partner is proud to extend our partnership with the World Curling Federation for another two years," says Christoph Heimes, iX.co’s CEO. "Coming off the heels of helping the World Curling Federation be named as one of the leading international sport organizations in China at the Winter Sports Awards, we are excited to be enhancing their social media operations and onsite coverage during Chinese curling events."
The Sina Weibo channel is now the Federation's fastest growing and most subscribed channel with almost 95,000 followers since its launch in August 2019.
