Montreal, 10 January 2018 – The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to announce that, this week, James Fitzgerald joins the Agency as its new Senior Manager, Media Relations and Communications.
Mr. Fitzgerald, who was most recently Manager, Media and Communications, with World Rugby in Dublin, Ireland has over 18 years’ experience in the sports communications industry. Before joining World Rugby, James held a similar role with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and, before ICC, he was a journalist with a number of prominent Irish news outlets.
"We are thrilled to welcome James Fitzgerald to WADA as a key player of the Agency’s five-person Communications Team," said Catherine MacLean, Director of Communications, WADA. "James has significant experience with leading International Federations and news outlets, which has helped him develop a solid media expertise and network," continued MacLean. "The Communications Team is looking forward to working alongside James to support WADA’s business priorities as the Leader of Clean Sport," MacLean continued.
As WADA’s primary media contact, James is responsible for proactively and reactively developing and conveying WADA’s positioning as required via the media to all WADA stakeholders. L’AMA ANNONCE LA NOMINATION DE SON NOUVEAU RESPONSABLE PRINCIPAL, RELATIONS MÉDIAS ET COMMUNICATION
Montréal, le 10 janvier 2018 – L’Agence mondiale antidopage (AMA) a le plaisir d’annoncer que James Fitzgerald se joint cette semaine à l’Agence en tant que responsable principal, Relations médias et communication.
M. Fitzgerald, qui était précédemment responsable des médias et des communications pour World Rugby, à Dublin, en Irlande, possède plus de 18 ans d’expérience en communication dans le monde du sport. Avant d’arriver à World Rugby, il a occupé des fonctions semblables au Conseil international du cricket, à Dubaï, aux Émirats arabes unis. Avant cela, il a travaillé comme journaliste pour plusieurs médias d’information importants en Irlande.
« Nous sommes ravis d’accueillir James Fitzgerald à l’AMA en tant que membre clé de l’équipe de la Communication de l’Agence, qui compte cinq personnes, a déclaré Catherine MacLean, directrice de la communication de l’AMA. James possède une vaste expérience auprès de fédérations internationales et de médias de premier plan, ce qui lui a permis de développer une solide expertise en matière de relations médias ainsi qu’un vaste réseau. L’équipe de la Communication se réjouit de travailler avec James afin de soutenir les priorités de l’AMA en tant que cheffe de file du sport propre. »
En tant que contact principal de l’AMA auprès des médias, James sera chargé de développer et de communiquer de façon proactive et réactive les positions de l’AMA à tous les partenaires de l’Agence via les médias.
