The Westfield Matildas have taken centre stage today, with the iconic Sydney Opera House being lit up in a spectacular celebration of Australia and New Zealand’s joint bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.

The dazzling display of colour and light marks an incredible milestone for women’s sport in Australia, showcasing images of current Westfield Matildas, grassroots heroes and historic champions.

Auckland’s Sky Tower was simultaneously lit up in the colours of the bid brand in support of this ground-breaking bid to host the world’s largest women’s sporting event.

The FIFA Council will announce the host of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 at a virtual press conference streamed live on FIFA.com today at approximately 17.00pm BST.
