(ATR) The surf brand VISSLA renews its multi-year partnership with the International Surfing Association as the title sponsor for the World Junior Surfing Championship.
The deal is good for three more years through 2020. VISSLA has been the title sponsor for the event since 2014.
"We look forward to working with Vissla and their team to build on the amazing foundation they have helped us create in the ISA World Juniors," ISA president Fernando Aguerre said in a statement.
"Together we are shaping the future generation of Surfing by providing a platform for the world’s best to put their talent on display in competition."
The 2018 VISSLA ISA World Junior Surfing Championship will make history as the first edition to feature gender equality, offering equal slots for boys and girls on each team. Huntington Beach, California will host from Oct. 27 to Nov. 4.
The event is the largest junior Surfing competition in the world, with the 2017 edition in Hyuga, Japan hosting 306 surfers from a record-breaking 41 nations across all continents of the globe.
"We are excited to continue supporting the biggest platform for junior Surfing to ensure an innovative and bright future for the sport, said VISSLA president Paul Naude in a statement.
"We look forward to watching these promising, young surfers put it all on the line in pursuit of Gold Medals and start their paths towards Surfing’s debut in Tokyo 2020."
USA Luge Searches for Talent
USA Luge is teaming up with White Castle to find America’s next best "slider".
The fast food restaurant serves as the "off-season recruitment program" sponsor for the national governing body.
Together the White Castle USA Luge Slider Search will tour around the U.S. attempting to unearth new talent for the NGB. Starting this week in Ohio, the tour will visit nine cities across the country through the summer.
The search will focus on children aged 9-13, looking for future members of the junior development team. USA Luge says that national and Olympic team members will serve as coaches at the clinic.
"The White Castle Slider Search is critical to finding luge athletes to represent the United States who will someday go for the gold," Gordy Sheer, USA Luge Director of Marketing and Sponsorships, said in a statement. "A morning or afternoon of trying something fun and new could be the first step down a path to glory."
US Rowing Supplier
JL Racing will serve as the official supplier and outfitter of US Rowing through the 2020 Olympics.
The company will provide full apparel and training kits for US Rowing national teams, as well as the licenser of official US Rowing apparel.
"Working with its partner, Wild Oar Crew, JL not only will provide all of our national teams with an outstanding gear kit in which to train and compete, it will create a new, unique, and innovative collection of USRowing-branded apparel for rowers and fans alike," Patrick McNerney, US Rowing chief executive officer, said in a statement.
