Sportel Monaco 2016 Comes to an End -- Photodesk

(ATR) The 27th edition of the Sportel Conference and Convention hosted in Monaco has come to an end.

A total of 3,008 delegates of 1,034 companies representing 80 countrieswere in attendance at the sports marketing and media business convention.

One of the major aspects was the development of the growing Diaghilev venue that showcased new marketing, sports and exciting tech solutions.Content owners can’t ignore the new opportunities the media has to offer, opportunities that enable brands and broadcasters a real interaction with audiences." SPORTEL General Manager Amparo Di Fede said in a statement.

This year Sportel collaborated with companies such as TVSM, LeSports, SVG, Facebook, Twitter, PPTV, the French Tennis Federation and more.

One of the key events during the conference was the Sportel Awards.

The awards ceremony was held at the Grimaldi Forum on Oct. 25 and was broadcast live on the European television channel L’Equipe 21.

During the awards ceremony the best international sports video, illustrated books and more were rewarded.

Some of the winners included NBC Sports Group USA "Neymar in Slow Motion" for the best slow motion and BBC Sport "Rio 2016 Olympic Game Trailer" for best promotional program.

International rugby icon Dan Carter received the 2016 Sportel Autobiography Prize at the Awards.

A jury of Olympians and personalities of the sports and media industries presented the Golden Podium prize - an original piece created by French painter Raymond Moretti - along with the Sports Book prize.

Jury Members included Olympic Boxing Champion Estelle Mossely and Paralympic Champion Richard Whitehead.

The next Sportel convention will be held in Miami, Florida on March 14-16, 2017.
