(ATR) A packed house of 55,000 spectators cheered during an exciting baseball game between South Korea and host country Japan during the inaugural Premier12 tournament.
The tournament is organized by the World Baseball Softball Confederation with games taking place at both the Tokyo Dome and the Sapporo Dome along with other smaller venues throughout Japan.
The inaugural event began on Nov. 8 and featured 12 of the world’s best baseball teams competing for the title in what the WBSC calls a "global baseball battle".
In Thursday’s semifinal, it was South Korea upsetting the home fans and earning a spot in the final of the tournament, awaiting a match-up with either the United States or Mexico in the final on Saturday, Nov. 21.
The U.S. and Mexico face off on Friday in the Tokyo Dome for the second semifinal match.
