(ATR) On Aug. 16, a test event for road cycling started early to accommodate a large protest against the government at Copacabana Beach.

Brazil President Dilma Rousseff currently enjoys an eight percent approval rating nationally, and citizens came out in droves to voice their frustrations.

The protest impacted the road cycling test event for the Rio 2016 Olympics scheduled on the same day. The test event started a few hours earlier than scheduled and the finish line was moved to a new location away from the protest.

Around the Rings was on the scene for the beginning of the road cycling race, and for the protest.
