RICHMOND, Va., January 23, 2015 – Richmond 2015, the organizing committee for the 2015 UCI Road World Championships, today announces that they will host a vendor symposium next month designed to inform local businesses about vendor opportunities surrounding the nine-day cycling event that will be held in Richmond in September.
The vendor symposium will take place February 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Richmond International Raceway complex, Richmond Room, 600 East Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23222. In addition to outlining vendor opportunities, Richmond 2015 organizers will outline the Richmond 2015 Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
Richmond 2015 is seeking a variety of vendor partners whose specialties range from temporary infrastructure such as tents and fencing to catering and audiovisual services. Organizers are encouraging vendors of all sizes to participate in the symposium.
"Hosting a global sporting event like the World Championships requires the support of the entire community," remarked Tim Miller, chief operating officer of Richmond 2015. "We are looking to partner with community-minded, local businesses wherever possible to deliver a wide range of world class services and products. The vendor symposium will be a great place for businesses to learn about potential ways to contribute to the success of hosting the world championships"
"The World Championships of cycling present a tremendous opportunity for Central Virginia businesses to get involved and make an impact on a once-in-a-lifetime event," said Kim Scheeler, president and CEO of the Greater Richmond Chamber. "It’s exciting to know that, as the world has its eye on Richmond, our talented local businesses will be front and center."
