(ATR) Lucien Boyer heads to Vivendi Group on Jan. 1 as Chief Marketing Officer after two decades at the firm now known as Havas Sports and Entertainment where he is currently CEO.

Boyer announced the move in an email.

"When I first created LMG (Lifestyle Marketing Group) in 1991 in Paris that ultimately became Havas Sports & Entertainment, my idea even back then, was to create "non-traditional advertising" and help brands get closer to people’s lives via their passions, engaging them and building meaningful relationships with major sports and entertainment stakeholders," he writes.

"I am proud to say that we were ahead of our time, pioneers in experiential, brand content, storytelling, brand engagement and broadly speaking, activation," he says.

Boyer will be succeeded by longtime Havas colleagues Pedro Avery who becomes Global CEO and Jérôme de Chaunac, named Global Managing Director of the Havas SE network.

"My role at Vivendi will thankfully allow me to stay in touch and hopefully keep on working together in the near future. From Universal Music Group to Canal Plus Group, to StudioCanal, Vivendi Content, Vivendi Talents and Live or Dailymotion, this represents an amazing opportunity to collaborate and create innovative and powerful brand engagement solutions together," Boyer says.
