(ATR) Cycling hopes a new website attracts new fans to the sport.

On Monday, cycling's governing body,UCI, unveiled the new website, located at www.uci.ch.

UCI President Brian Cookson said in a statement the redesign will provide a better user experience, and "attract new supporters from non-traditional cycling markets."

"Our digital advancements are part of the new global strategy for growth that is now being embedded across the UCI and we’re looking forward to building on the momentum as we continue to take the organization forward," Cookson said.

Digital media company Deltatre helped build the website.

In conjunction with the redesign, UCI launched an updated Facebook page.
