The Mexican Casandra Vélez Aliaga totaled 159 kilos in the 49 Kg category and won the gold medal. The Mexican athlete closed the second day of the Youth World Cup with great quality
and precision. The Colombian Karoll López Álvarez obtained a silver medal by adding 156 kilos; and the representative of Malta, Tenishia Thornton added 155 kilos.
Vélez Aliaga lifted 72 kilos in Snatch (gold) and 87 kilos in Clean & Jerk (gold). López Álvarez lifted 70 kilos in Snatch (bronze) and 86 kilos in Clean & Jerk (silver). Thornton lifted 71 kilos in
Snatch (silver) and 84 kilos in Clean & Jerk (bronze).
In the early hours, Indonesia took the winners podium. Muhammad Faathir totaled 263 kilos in the total sum: 113 kilos in Snatch (silver) and 150 in Clean and Jerk (gold). \The American Hampton Miller added 256 kilos: 108 kilos in Snatch (bronze) and 148 kilos in Clean and Jerk (silver). The Mexican Cetz Carrasco totaled 255 kilos: 114 in Snatch (gold) and
141 in Clean & Jerk (bronze).
The medal table is still led by Peru with eight medals: five gold, two silver and one bronze.
