New year. New opportunities! The ITTF will be bolstering its staff with a number of key positions advertised at present, as the organisation continues to grow substantially through 2019.

"We are currently experiencing the most significant rise in staff members in ITTF history and this is the latest sign of how we are professionalising the organisation in a way that correlates with our commitment to take Table Tennis to the next level both on and off the court this year."

ITTF CEO, Steve Dainton

World Ranking Manager

Helping to completely revolutionise Table Tennis and the vast range of international events organised by the ITTF each year, the World Ranking Manager represents a crucial role for the constant development and ever-increasing professionalisation of the sport.

The World Ranking Manager will be responsible for establishing World Ranking systems across a range of ITTF event categories, including but not limited to Open, Juniors, Para, Veterans and TTX.

The successful candidate will work continuously to improve the World Ranking measurements, methods, performance and delivery, ensuring that they link in to all aspects of the ITTF from Marketing to High Performance and Development, through to the Olympic Games.

As well as having a clear, wide-reaching strategy and vision for the World Ranking, this is a role which also requires exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that all ranking systems are accurate and up to date.

For this reason, candidates applying for the role must have relevant tertiary education in Mathematics/Statistics, Sports Management and/or Business, five years’ experience working within international sport, and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, among other criteria, which you can see here.

"We are very keen to hire a World Ranking Manager, who will have a key role in helping us improve the World Ranking in a way that we can further achieve our goals and objectives.

"The key principles of the new World Ranking are there and, after the first year of its implementation, we can see that, overall, the World Ranking for Singles works quite well, with some details to be fine-tuned. We would now like to bring the Team, Doubles, Juniors, Para and other rankings to a more final version.

"The World Ranking Manager will play a crucial role as the key liaison contact for players and coaches for receiving feedback and further analysing details. We will be looking for someone who will help the ITTF ensure that the World Ranking provides true value for both the events and the athletes."

Regional Director – Latin America

Latin America is a key focus area for the global growth of Table Tennis both on and off the court. The Regional Director – Latin America will be responsible for establishing the structure and professionalism of staffing within the region, and develop, manage and implement the ITTF Strategic Plan in Latin America.

Acting as a direct liaison contact between the ITTF and Latin America, the successful candidate will be responsible for an expanding Latin America Events Calendar and for the supervision of the Latin America High Performance and Development Program.

"The Regional Director – Latin America is an exciting role within the ITTF, which reflects the rapidly growing importance of Table Tennis in Latin America. With a number of rising stars in the region and increased professionalisation of events, there is plenty of potential for the sport to reach much greater prominence in Latin America. Whoever takes on this role will be ensuring that Table Tennis in the region keeps going from strength to strength.

"After the recent appointment of Tony Kiesenhofer as Regional Director – North America, our aim is to have Regional Directors in all continents as we raise the profile of Table Tennis around the world."

ITTF Foundation – Field Programs Coordinator

2019 will see an unprecedented number of humanitarian Table Tennis projects across the globe through the daily work of the ITTF Foundation. The Field Programs Coordinator will act as a pillar to the coordination of these projects, acting as the face of the ITTF Foundation on the ground and serving as a window to the Foundation’s Dream Building Program.

The daily tasks will include, but are not limited to, regular international travel to field projects, coaching, communicating and getting updates from the various local coordinators, reporting and monitoring projects in order to increase the quality of the humanitarian projects and continually improve the ITTF Foundation’s approach to supporting them.

"Table Tennis has long played a significant role in building bridges within communities around the world and this new position of Field Programs Coordinator will enable the ITTF Foundation to expand its reach of humanitarian projects through 2019.
