International consultation begins as national competitions now recognised

All international competition has been stopped since March.

As of 1 July, World Archery once again recognises national events that are registered in its calendar for the purposes of world records and performance awards.

National federations are encouraged to resume competition when it is deemed safe to do so by local authorities and while respecting relevant health regulations.

The international calendar is still on hiatus.

Over the past few months, World Archery’s event staff has worked on options to hold a shortened schedule of tournaments in the autumn. This process will now enter a two-week consultation phase.

The viability of holding any event at an international level will be assessed with national federations, athletes, coaches and other officials.

A final decision on the 2020 season will be announced no later than 15 July.

Regardless of the outcome of this consultation, the dates of the 2021 Hyundai Archery World Cup will be announced on 20 July.
