FISU Joins SportAccord in Ekaterinburg - Conferences & Conventions

(ATR) SportAccord confirms FISU as a gold partner for SportAccord 2021 in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

The 19th edition of the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit will be held from May 23-28 at the IEC Ekaterinburg-Expo Convention Centre..

The FISU announcement comes almost exactly three years from Ekaterinburg hosting the 2023 FISU World University Games - the largest global multi-sports event for university athletes.

FISU will assist with preparations for SportAccord 2021, with the event serving as a build-up to the Games.

SportAccord says the vast majority of organizations that had planned to exhibit at SportAccord this year have already confirmed that they are committed to having a presence at the event in Ekaterinburg.

The 2020 edition was originally scheduled for Beijing and then moved to Lausanne before being cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Soccerex Connected 2020

Representatives from FC Barcelona, YouTube, and Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) are among the latest confirmed speakers for Soccerex Connected 2020.

Soccerex will be bringing together 2000 stakeholders from around the world to discuss the challenges of the pandemic via a dedicated online platform.

Described as "the meeting place for the global football community to chart the ongoing course through the ‘new normal’", Soccerex Connected 2020 will be held from Sept. 21-25.

Each of the five days will focus on a set topic including: governance; commercial, digital and fan engagement; elite performance; commercial, revenue and sponsorship; and stadia and major events.

The Soccerex Connected platform will include a virtual expo area, SoccerMatch networking sessions and a number of other networking solutions.

Host City Plans for 2020

The seventh edition of the Host City conference and exhibition returns to Glasgow, Scotland in November.

The physical event will be paired with an online platform as the annual international meeting of cities and sports explores how to produce"Recovery with a Purpose for the Digital Age".

In keeping with the Covid-19 pandemic in which we are living, the theme for this year is "The Big Restart".

The event is scheduled for Nov. 17-18.

Agenda topics will include hosting in the new normal, Environmental and Social Governance, digital transformation and international collaboration.

Structured networking and exhibition activities will be available.

SportsPro Offering Two Virtual Events for 2020

SportsPro goes online with two summits planned for later this year.

The seventh edition of SportsPro Live, with the theme "Driving the new era of sports", will be held on Sept. 16-17, with each six-hour day running from 12 pm-6pm BST (1100-1700 GMT).

There will be 40 sessions available with 65 industry leading speakers on the docket, including representatives from Manchester United, the San Francisco 49ers, the Boston Celtics, Wimbledon, Formula 1, and the European Golf Tour.

The inaugural SportsPro Asia will follow on Oct. 21-22. Each five-hour day will run from 1 pm – 6pm Singapore time (0500-1000 GMT).

SportsPro Asia is a new adaptation of the OTT Summit Asia, with a wider cross-section that includes digital and social media as well as OTT.

International Table Tennis Federation CEO Steve Dainton is among the speakers lined up for the event.

IF Forum 2020 to be Face-to-Face

The International Federation Forum 2020 plans to bring the global sporting community together in the flesh.

This year's edition will be held on Nov. 4-5 at the Hotel Royal Savoy in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The focus will be on how sport and society can emerge stronger from a global crisis. The forum, by invitation only, is expected to include 300 leaders from 125 International Sports Federations.

Registration is open for this year’s IF Forum, which will be organized by SportAccord for International Sport Federations with support from the IOC.

"The IF Forum will be a vital signpost for the global sports movement in a turbulent 2020 and thoughts turn to a brighter future. As an integral part of communities worldwide, sport will play a crucial broader role as societies and economies emerge from the Covid-19 crisis." said SportAccord and GAISF President Raffaele Chiulli.

IF topics include crisis management, scenario planning and how to remain connected with fans and athletes.
