(ATR) The International Swimming Federation (FINA) launched FINA GMS, its general management system, on Tuesday.
The management system was created in partnership with Omega to expedite event management processes and FINA administration procedures for the main FINA events.
The GMS revolves around a database that facilitates the discourse of information between events, which will allow member federations to easily submit athlete information and helps event organizers collect operations data.
"Omega is a worldwide well-known and respected brand," FINA president Dr. Julio C. Maglione said in a release.
"This common project demonstrates FINA’s will in staying associated with a partner also actively engaged in the development of the aquatic sports."
The GMS will be implemented for the FINA World Swimming Championships and FINA World Aquatics Convention Doha in December.
