(ATR) The FIFA Ballon d'Or gala welcomed the biggest names in world football to Zurich on Jan. 11 to celebrate the year in sport.
Lionel Messi of Argentina took home the premier award of the event, winning the Ballon d'Or trophy for best male payer for 2015. Carli Lloyd of the United States won the women's football player of the year award fresh off her performance at the 2015 Women's World Cup. USA women's coach Jill Ellis was also awarded as the best women's coach of the year.
British pop star Leona Lewis also performed during the event along with the Croatian cellists known as 2CELLOS.
