Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) President Stan Cockerton today announced the launch of a search for the organization’s first chief executive officer. As the international governing body of lacrosse, the FIL leads the development of lacrosse throughout the word and conducts quadrennial world championship in five disciplines.
"We’re excited about the opportunity to build the staff infrastructure required to meet the demands of our fast-growing organization, more effectively develop and scale the sport internationally, and best serve our 56 member nations on six continents," said Cockerton.
The FIL has selected global search consultant SRiCheyenne (www.sriexecutive.com), which specializes in executive and management talent in sports, media and entertainment, to lead the search. SRi’s clients have included numerous international organizations across sports, media and entertainment, including rights holders, professional clubs & teams, international federations, governing bodies, corporate sponsors, venues, major events, broadcasters, media owners, agencies and sporting goods brands.
"SRi is delighted to be selected to lead this search for one of the fastest-growing sports in the world," said SRi Managing Partner, David James. "We know this position will attract a lot of interest."
The FIL’s new CEO will be focused on a number of strategic initiatives, including the development and expansion of the organization’s communications, world championship and commercial platforms.
