LEN Presidential candidate Erik van Heijningen is determined to work together with all Member Federations to move LEN forward and ensure that Europe remains a leading force in and out of the pool. As part of this platform, the second pillar of his vision focuses on Empowerment.
"One size does not fit all. LEN is comprised of federations from over 50 countries representing our aquatic disciplines. And each of them are facing their own unique challenges. I believe that LEN must create a structure that empowers Member Federations. This means providing them the flexibility and support to make a real difference in the development and growth of Aquatics in their respective countries."
Van Heijningen further explains: "As LEN President, I would propose increasing direct two-way communication with all our Member Federations and expanding the financial assistance programmes to create tailored long-term development plans for federations who need it most. I feel it is important that each of our federations are able to set their own priorities and I want to make sure that they have the resources and support necessary to achieve their goals.
"I believe that empowered Members are successful Members and I am certain that with the right coordination and support all of our Member Federations will be able to reach new heights."
