The most expected and watched sports event of the year.
More than 70,000 sports fans will be present at Berlin Olympiastadion and millions of viewers from more than 200 countries will watch the 60th UEFA Champions League final.
After an international call for submissions, The Union of European Football Association (UEFA) has entrusted the opening ceremony to a Canadian/Italian partnership Circo de Bazuka and Filmmaster Events. The two companies are producing a spectacular ceremony for the Champions League Finals on June 6th.
The partnership between the two event agencies will create an evocative ceremony. Its aim is to show the deepest soul of cutting-edge cities in Europe, which distinguishes itself for its high level of artistic and cultural influence, along with its rich historical heritage. This is Berlin, the host city for Champions League 2015 final.
The complex mass choreographies are designed by famous Wanda Rokicki, one of the most famous choreographers in the world, who worked on the Athens 2004 Olympic ceremonies, a previous Champions League final in Lisbon, and there will be more than 400 performers on stage. Soprano Nina Maria Fisher and tenor Manual Gomez Ruiz will sing the hymns, accompanied by 50 voices of the Junges Ensemble Berlin Choir.
It will be a complex show in terms of production. Performers, dancers and scenic installations will be in and out of the field in only 9 minutes, leaving it untouched for the entrance of Juventus FC and FC Barcelona and for the beginning of this unforgettable match.
Andrea Francisi, Filmmaster Events General Manager, states: "We are proud of working with UEFA again after the EURO 2012 ceremonies. It's a big honor and a responsibility to work on the most awaited finals of the year, which is so important to football fans all over the world. The fact that an Italian team is playing makes the pressure even bigger. We have a passion for sport ceremonies. In the last 10 years we've designed several sporting events and in 2016 we will produce the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies."
Roshan Soomarchun - Circo de Bakuza, Vice President and Partner: "Once again UEFA chose us as their creative agency for the Champions League Final ceremony. It confirms the trust of the institution since 2012. The heart of the event is always the game, but the ceremony is its soul. This year we raise the bar and bring the ceremony to the next level with spectacular props and mass choreography. Our goal is to create a rendez-vous throughout the year during which we will celebrate the fans, the host city (Berlin) and of course the beautiful game."
