ICF Extends Eurovision Sports Partnership

The International Canoe Federation has renewed its long term media rights contract with Eurovision Sports until 2024.

Men and women from roughly 90 countries participate in the ICF World Championships, with extreme canoe slalom making its Olympic debut at Paris 2024.

"It is with great pleasure that we have renewed our long-running agreement to distribute the worldwide media rights of the ICF," Andreas Aristodemou, Eurovision Sport’s Head of Summer Sports Rights, said.

The renewed distribution deal is effective this year, broadcasting in all territories with the exception of Canada, China, and New Zealand. Championships covered by Eurovision Sports include the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships September 15-21, and also the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships held September 21-26.

Paris 2024 Sponsors Adjust to Pandemic

The one-year postponement of Tokyo 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic has created a knock-on effect for Paris 2024 partners. With only three years until the next Summer Olympics, they have had to revise their marketing strategies.

FrancsJeuxinterviewed the Paris 2024 project director for EDF Group, premium partner and official supplier of electricity and gas for the Paris Games.

Skateboard GB Creates New Skateboarding Facilities

Skateboard GB has received donations from independent peanut butter brand Jackpot, in order to fund skate spaces across the U.K.

Last year, Skateboard GB assisted with advisement of over 200 skateparks after merging with Skateboard England.

"This is fantastic news for the skateboarding community, with a healthy food brand using its sales to help sustain the growth of DIY skateboard spaces around the UK.

"Last year we saw the largest growth in skateboarding participation in 20 years, so this has come a good time to help grow these type of facilities," said James Hope-Gill, CEO at Skateboard GB.

Jackpot products are currently stocked by Ocado, Wholefoods, Amazon and independent businesses.
