(ATR) The Rio 2016 Olympic basketball court has been tested and is athlete approved.
Basketball held a test event on Jan. 15-17 in the Olympic Park. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, and Venezuela sent women's teams to compete in the venue that will host the basketball finals during the Games.
"It is a very beautiful stadium, and has a really good atmosphere and feeling," Erin Phillips, a shooting guard from Australia, said to Around the Rings. "When I first walked in here I was really excited; I had good feelings."
Australia won the gold medal from the tournament after winning all three of their matches, they defeated Brazil 77-67 in the event's final match.
"The floor is fantastic I feel really good to play on it and practice on it and it has good spring on it and overall its a great court."
Carioca Arena will also host wheelchair basketball and rugby during the Paralympic Games.
