In this week's edition of our 2 Minute Newscast, ATR’s Brian Pinelli updates the Alpine World Ski Championships, reporting from the windy resort town of Cortina, Italy.
In Beijing 2022, organizers unveiled the Olympic and Paralympic torches a few days ago. The Olympic Torch named "Flying" is burning brightly because Beijing is the first city to host both summer and winter games. The flame ignited celebrations marking the one year countdown until the Opening Ceremony in February next year.
The Olympic and Paralympic torches have a lock feature that will make it easier for torchbearers to light the next flame during the Torch Relay. The interlocking torches are meant to convey Beijing 2022’s vision for understanding and unity.
So far, there’s no word on the Torch Relay, which is how the Olympic Flame will get around ahead of the Games.
