The 4th Asian Para Games, which were originally scheduled to take place in May of this year, have been rescheduled to take place from October 22-28, 2023 in Hangzhou, China.

The decision to reschedule the dates was taken after discussions were conducted with the various stakeholder groups, including: HAPGOC (the local organizing committee), the National Paralympic Committee of China and the APC.

The new schedule was unveiled following last month’s announcement of the dates for the 2022 Asian Games by the Olympic Council of Asia. The Para Games are traditionally held two weeks after the close of the Asian Games.

“We are happy to announce the new dates for the Asian Para Games, which were approved by the APC Executive Board. We would also like to thank HAPGOC (organizers), the Chinese Paralympic Committee and Hangzhou and Zhejiang provincial governments for their continuous support and efforts to ensure that the Games take place on the new dates,” APC President Majid Rashed said.

The Asian Para Games will be held in China for the second time following the successful staging of the event in Guangzhou in 2010.

Rashed also thanked the organizing groups for their patience and cooperation in working with the APC to resolve the scheduling logistics for the Games.
