Eight Olympic medalists from the Tokyo Games are slated to participate in the 2022 Bermuda Games. The event is the first stop of the World Athletics Continental Tour..

Noah Lyles and Erriyon Knighton will resume their rivalry as the two young sprinters look to square off in a 100m battle on Saturday.

Lyles, 24, and Knighton, 18, finished third and fourth in the 200m in their Olympic debuts in Tokyo.

Lyles the 2019 World Champion, had the fastest 200m time in the world in 2021 while Knighton, became the youngest competitor in the event since Jim Ryun in 1964.

Both will now run the 100m in Bermuda and assuming they both qualify, the match-up should make for ‘must see TV’ on NBC, Saturday from 2:30-4:30pm EST.

The expanded schedule of events for the 2022 season is part of the Journey to Gold Tour, which aims to shine a spotlight on the various facets of the sport and the athletes.

The Journey to Gold Tour is also designed to increase the engagement of the sport and prepare the athletes for the Olympic Games in 2024 and 2028.
