World Taekwondo President Choue meets CONI President Malago in Rome

World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue today met with Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) President Giovanni Malago at the CONI headquarters in Rome.

During the meeting the two Presidents discussed the development of taekwondo in Italy which has seen significant growth in recent years. President Malago spoke of the impact hosting the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Rome last year has had on the sport in Italy ahead of hosting the competition again this weekend.

President Choue updated President Malago on the successful World Taekwondo Demonstration Team tour of Italy which has seen them travel to Turin, Milan, Naples, Matera, Lecce and Rome. The Demonstration Team will perform tomorrow morning ahead of the Rome 2019 World Taekwondo Grand Prix and President Malago committed to watching their performance.

President Choue also congratulated President Malago on Italy winning their first ever taekwondo World Championships gold medal last month in Manchester.

President Choue was presented with a commemorative Rome 1960 Olympic medal.
