The conference is being held at the Hilton London Metropole from Nov. 14-15 and seeks to bring together the global rugby community to share knowledge and forge connections.

The theme of the conference is analyzing the future of rugby and determining ways the federation can excel in the ever-changing landscape of the Olympic Movement. The conference will also discuss the impact of rugby’s return to the Olympics in Rio and its efforts to be a mainstay on the Olympic program.

The 2016 edition of the event will be preceded by the World Rugby Awards for the first time.

"World Rugby ConfEx 2016 is shaping up to be our best yet with more participants, a vibrant and engaging exhibition space and a varied and insightful agenda," said World Rugby chief executive Brett Gosper.

Stadium Design and Development Summit Nearly Here

Professionals in the design, construction, refurbishment and management of major sports venues around the world will convene in Liverpool/Manchester this year for the Stadium Business Design and Development Summit.

The event will be held at one of the UK's international cricket venues, theEmirates Old Trafford.

Sixty project delegations including sport federations and event bid committees are expected to attend.

The annual conference gives delegates the opportunity to discuss plans for future and current sporting venues through workshops, mini-expos, and networking events.

Topics for panel discussions range from "Energy Efficiency" to "Construction Techniques".

Speakers for some of the workshops include the Director of AFL-Architects John Roberts, CEO of Cambridge United Community Trust Danny Kerrigan and Chief Executive of Lancashire CCC Daniel Gidney.

The 2016 edition of the conference will feature a "Marketplace" specifically designed to open debate and incite interaction through the displays of various product demonstrations.

The Summit will also give delegates the opportunity to take site visits and tours to venues such as Goodison Park and Anfield Stadium.

The Stadium Business Designs and Development Summit will take place from Nov.1 to Nov. 2.

ANOC Awards Shines Spotlight on Rio Games

Achievements made at the Rio 2016 Olympics will be recognized during an awards ceremony at the annual Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) General Assembly in Doha, Qatar.

During the ceremony the best male, female, and team of Rio 2016 in addition to the best NOC will be rewarded with a trophy.

The ANOC Award for the most Inspirational Performance, Inspiring Hope through Sport, Outstanding Contribution to the Olympic Movement and Outstanding Lifetime Achievement will be awarded as well.

The jury will consist of a member of each of the continental associations along with the ANOC athletes commission & secretary general, ASOIF president and personalities of the sports and media industries.

The awards ceremony will be taking place at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

"We always look forward to the ANOC Awards because it provides us with an opportunity to give NOCs and their athletes the recognition they deserve. They dedicate themselves to the Olympic Movement 365 days a year and the ANOC Awards is a chance to honour them and provide them with an evening to enjoy," ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah said in a statement.

"There were so many spectacular athletic performances at Rio 2016 that the ANOC Jury must have had a very difficult job in selecting the winners. Rio 2016 truly was a Games which showcased the exceptional talents of the world’s athletes and provided so many special moments which inspired us all. The ANOC Awards 2016 will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate these moments and honour the NOCs without whom it would not have been possible."
