H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Chairman of "H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award" and President of the National Olympic Committee, has rewarded the winners of the 6th Edition of the Award, in a prestigious ceremony, held Wednesday 14th Jan. 2015 in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al-Nahayan, the Minister of Culture, Youth & Community Development / H.E. "H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award" is the greatest of its kind with respect to its various categories & financial rewards and the first that deals with sports creativity.
The top awardees in the final ceremony of the 6th Edition of the Award was H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, the Chairman of the Emirates Airline & President of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation, who has gained the appreciative reward of the Local Creative Sportsperson for the eminent role of the Emirates Flight to sponsor top world football clubs & support the sports process.
H.H. Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Bin Essa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain has also got the appreciative reward of the sportsperson who has attained creative sports success; for the distinctive arrangement of Khalid Bin Hamad Swimming Challenge from Saudi Arabia to Bahrain (42 km) besides getting the title of the same.
Message of H.S.H Prince Albert II of Monaco:
Mr. Joel Bouzou, the Founder and President of the Peace & Sport Organization, received the Award of the World Creative Sportsperson on behalf of Prince Albert II of Monaco for his contribution to boost the exercise of sport all over the world. Prince Albert apologized since he found it difficult to attend the event for uncontrollable circumstances and sent a message for the attendees, through which he thanked the respective bodies of the Award & confirmed pleasure to get the reward. He expressed that the award will motivate him to exert further efforts to popularize peace all over the world, stating that sport presents vital role to create convergence among nations and enhance relations among various countries.
The International Hockey Federation has gained the Award of the World Creative Corporation for its innovative method to arrange multi-Hockey events simultaneously in one city, taking into consideration that more than 10 thousand professional sportspersons of 14 to 65 years old contested the Hockey matches. The award of this category was received by Mr. Leandro Negre, the President of the International Hockey Federation.
Local Rewards:
Faisal Fahad Ahmed Al-Ketbi has got the Award of the Local Creative Athlete for attaining the World’s title of the Jujitsu Professionals 2014.
The UAE Handball National Team has been Awarded as the Local Creative Team in succession of qualifying to the World Cup finals (Qatar 2015).
The Mamemo Productions Co. has got the Award of the Local Creative Corporation for innovating & distinctively arranging the Beach Polo Championship.
Mahadi Abdul Rahim Abu Al-Hassan and Yaqoub Ghubash have shared the Award of the Local Creative Referee.
H.E. Ahmed Al-Kamali, the President of the UAE Athletic Association & Member of the International Athletic Federation, has been Awarded as the Local Creative Administrator.
Youth Category:
In the youth category, six local youth contested the final stage of voting through Dubai Sports Channel, and accordingly they have been ranked as follows:
Rashid Abdulla Souwedan, the title’s holder of the UAE & Gulf Cycling, has got the 1st place / Faris Abdulla Al-Janahi, the holder of two silver medals in the individual & double categories of the U 14 Asian Tennis Championship in Qatar, has got the 2nd place / the 3rd place has been attained by Salem Ahmed Abdulla Al-Shehi of special needs category (athletic games), who has gained the silver medal in 100 M Race & bronze medal in 1500 M in the World Wheelchair Race for Youth in London / Mohammed Saeed Sultan Al-Kabee of special needs category (athletic game) has gained the 4th place for getting the golden medal in the Asian Paralympic Games Tournament for Youth – Malaysia 2013 / Amna Nuaman Mohammed Al-Ali (chess game), has gained the 4th place for attaining the title of the U 20 Arab Chess Championship and has therefore been awarded as International Master in Chess / Essa Ibrahim Al-Baloushi (table tennis) has come 6th for gaining the silver medal of the 16th Gulf National Teams Championship for Table Tennis – Jeddah 2013.
Arab Creative Athletes:
Ayanlh Sulaiman Hassan of Djibouti, the golden medal’s holder of the World Athletic Indoor Championship, has gained the Award of the Arab Creative Sportsperson.
The Arab Creative Referee Reward has been awarded to Jamal Haimodi from Algeria for his brilliant performance during the last World Cup in Brazil 2014.
Abdul Hakim Mohammed Essa Al-Shanoo from Bahrain, the first Arab & Asian person to preside the International Military Sports Council (CISM), has got the Award of the Arab Creative Administrator.
H.E. Mohammed Rawrawah, the President of the Algerian Football Association, has been named as winner for the Award of the Arab Creative Administrator.
Ms. Rania Elwani has gained the Award of the Arab Creative Sportswoman for her eminent contribution to enrich women sport. She is a member in the International Agency for Doping Control and pre-member of the Olympic sportspersons in the International Olympic Committee.
The Award of the Arab Creative Youth Sportsperson, who has attained distinctive achievements in sports sector, has been attained by Ahmed Akram Mohammed Abbas from Egypt; for gaining the golden medal in 800 M Freestyle Swimming in the Youth Olympic Game – China 2014, while his compatriot Ibrahim Al-Hussaini Hamatto has got the Award of the Creative Athlete who has attained sports achievement within major humanitarian circumstances (disabled category).
Saudi Excellence:
The Saudi Football National Team for Special Needs has attained the Award of the Arab Creative Team in succession of gaining the title of the World Cup for Athletes with Intellectual Disability for the third successive time. The Award was received by Eng. Naser Mohammed Al-Muttawa, the Representative of the Saudi Paralympic Committee.
Mr. Fahad Bin Ali Al-Haqbani, the CEO of the Fitness Time Foundation, received the Award of the Arab Creative Corporation on behalf of the Foundation for launching sports initiative to encourage all classes of society to exercise daily sports activities and enjoy healthy & active life.
