It’s now just 180 days to go to the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF), which will take place from 23 to 29 July in Gyor, Hungary. The Organizing Committee held a press conference to inform the media about the preparations.

"Preparations are in full swing, the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival will be held within a few kilometers in our city. My colleagues and I are checking continuously the construction sites. Chef de Mission meeting will be held in Gyor at the end of April, venues will be completed at the end of May. More than 2300 volunteers have applied what shows the whole Hungary is in action" - told Zsolt Borkai, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee and the EYOF’s Organizing Committee in a press conference held in Audi Arena, Gyor.

The Evaluation Commission of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) visited Gyor several times and gave positive feedback. "Sustainability plays a key role in our masterplan" - claimed the Major of Gyor, Zsolt Borkai.

"The Olympic flame arrives in May from Rome then starts it’s country tour. I am grateful to my colleagues at the Organising Committee and the Hungarian Olympic Committee, the Hungarian Government, the Hungarian SFs and the media" - told the Olympic Champion gymnast Zsolt Borkai to the media.

Hungary will host 3 big sport events in the same this summer: the XIV. EYOF, the XVII. FINA World Championships and the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix.

"These three significant sporting events will be the guarantee of Hungary’s ability to host a successful and great Olympic Games in 2024" – claimed Zsolt Borkai.

The Opening Ceremony will be held on 23 July in ETO Park.

The total figure for participating NOC Teams now stands around 3600 athletes in 10 sports.
