The event will be held at the Lebanon Sports Complex, which has 28 full sized Ultimate fields, with the finals to be held at a local high school stadium. WUCC is the premier club championships event for the flying disc discipline of Ultimate. The event is held every four years and is comprised of city club teams who are endorsed by their National Federations. The 2018 WUCC will be comprised of Men’s, Women’s and Mixed divisions, with Masters Division competitions held separately for the first time.

The Tournament Organizing Committee (TOC) will be the Cincinnati Ultimate Players Association (CUPA) with Event Director Dale Wilker heading up the team of experienced and passionate staff and volunteers. The TOC will be strongly supported by Columbus Ultimate Disc Association (CUDA), the Warren Country Convention and Visitors Bureau (WCCVB), Oshadega LLC, and USA Ultimate.

"The WUCC is an incredible event where we showcase the premier club teams from around the world," stated WFDF President Robert "Nob" Rauch. "Our last edition in Lecco, Italy in 2014 attracted a record 160 teams and nearly 4,000 athletes. We expect participation from club teams from nearly 50 countries in 2018, and the experienced organizers, who have hosted 21 major Ultimate tournaments over the past 10 years, are expected to put on an incredible event."

Event Director and head of the TOC Mr Dale Wilker commented that "the Cincinnati Ultimate Players Association is excited to host the WFDF 2018 World Ultimate Club Championships. CUPA is especially honored to host this tournament together with the well-respected and experienced organizations USA Ultimate, Columbus Ultimate Disc Association, the Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Oshadega. We expect to create an unforgettable experience for players, coaches, and spectators because of our partners’ long history of collaborating to put on high-quality tournaments. Players will play with the world's best and fans will have the chance to watch some of the world’s most amazing athletes. Ultimate has millions of players and fans throughout the world. It’s a flourishing sport, and we're excited to help put Warren County Ohio, "Ohio's Largest Playground," on a world platform. At the same time, we're pleased be able to share our passion for this highly athletic sport with the people of southwestern Ohio and surrounding states."

National governing body USA Ultimate will work closely with the TOC over the next 24 months, using the same venue and TOC to host the 2017 USA Ultimate College Nationals, as well as being a major partner for the WUCC. "We were thrilled to work closely with both CUPA and WFDF to help bring the WFDF 2018 World Ultimate Club Championships to the United States," said USA CEO Tom Crawford.
