(ATR) The Vancouver 2010 flame travels across British Columbia on Day 95 of the torch relay.
Weekend highlights include the Vancouver Olympic torch relay traveling through 25 towns and being carried by three Olympians. Torchbearer Jamie Lee will carry the torch while speed skating at the outdoor speed skating oval in Fort St. John.
Today, the torch relay departs Fort St. John making its way to Fort Nelson. The flame will enter the town in a 1908 McLaughlin Buick Model 10.
A welcome celebration will take place at Art Fraser Memorial Park. The festivities include Aboriginal drumming, music, figure skating and an elementary choir.
The torch progresses through the towns of Haisla, Kitimat and then to Terrace where a community celebration will take place at City Hall and include a chorus performance.
The 2010 flame proceeds through Kitsumkalum and New Aiyansh before it reaches its final destination point of the day in the small community of Prince Rupert known for being the land, air and water transportation hub of British Columbia’s North Coast.
A welcome celebration will take place at City Hall and include a performance by the Pacific Mist Chorus.
Tomorrow, the Olympic Flame travels through 3 towns and torchbearer Ali Hunt will carry the torch in a Kwakiutl First Nations traditional canoe.
