U.S. Based Athletes' Performance Supporting Chinese Olympic Athletes for the 2012 London Olympics

Athletes' Performance is honored to announce a new partnership with the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) to support selected teams and individuals as they prepare for the 2012 Summer Olympics to be held in London, England.

Athletes' Performance, a recognized world leader of integrated performance training, physical therapy, and nutrition services, has supported five #1 overall NFL draft picks and 350 total drafted players, MLB MVPs and All-Stars, track & field world champions, and multiple World Cup soccer teams among the 1000s of professional and elite athletes supported around the world since 1999.

The Chinese Olympic Committee, which saw its athletes win fifty-one gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, the most of any country, and one-hundred medals total, has partnered with Athletes' Performance to receive integrated performance training, physical therapy, and nutrition services for its athletes, as well as consulting services for training facility design in preparation for the 2012 games.

"This is an incredible honor and an exciting challenge which we fully embrace," said Athletes' Performance founder and president Mark Verstegen. "Athletes prepare their whole lives for an opportunity to compete at the Olympics and we are excited to support them, their hard work, and dedication as they prepare to represent their country on the world's biggest athletic stage."

As part of the partnership, Athletes' Performance is currently supporting fourteen teams, including Men's & Women's Gymnastics, Men's & Women's Table Tennis, Men's & Women's Rowing, Women's Diving, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Women's Volleyball, and Men's & Women's Swimming, Women's Marathon, and Men's & Women's Trampoline, with additional teams and athletes potentially receiving support.

"This partnership will help to keep our athlete training systems at the forefront of the industry worldwide and contribute to the success of China's athletes in international sports competition including the 2012 London Olympic Games," said Aijie Liu, Deputy Director, Competition and Training Dept. of COC.
