Una Probadita de Mexico Holds Press Conference to Announce Experiential Activity for Football Fans

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: 18th June 2013: Una Probadita de Mexico (Taste of Mexico) held a press conference in Rio de Janeiro today to announce experiential activity that it will be hosting for football fans in Brazil during the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.

Held at Clube dos Marimbás on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, the press conference was hosted by Javier Ruiz Galindo, Managing Director of Una Probadita de Mexico, Justino Compean, President of the Mexican Football Federation, and Luis Quintero, President of Grupo MUNDOMEX.

Una Probadita de Mexico is an international event concept that celebrates Mexican culture fused with the traditions of the country it is hosted by and was launched to the world at the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ in Germany followed by the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa. The press conference unveiled preview images and information about ‘La Plaza de Mexico’ in Brazil during the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.

‘La Plaza de Mexico’ will be positioned in Rio de Janeiro from 12th June until 13th July 2013 and will showcase the best of Mexico including concerts, costumes, performances and traditional food and drink combined with Brazil’s cultural offering. ‘La Plaza de Mexico’ will be available to all football fans in Rio de Janeiro during the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ and will also be supported by ‘fiestas’ in Host Cities across the country depending on where Mexico will be playing in Brazil.

Javier Ruiz Galindo, Managing Director of Una Probadita de Mexico (Taste of Mexico), stated, "We are very proud of our Mexican culture and it has been an honour and pleasure to bring the delights of Mexico to Germany and South Africa during previous World Cups. Our fans have loved having a ‘taste of Mexico’ during previous World Cups as it provides an uplifting reminder of home and it also showcases a new image of Mexico to the world."

Grupo Mundomex was appointed by MATCH Hospitality AG, the worldwide exclusive rights holder of the FIFA Hospitality Programme through to 2023, as its Co-exclusive Sales Agents in Mexico for the sale of the official hospitality programme of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ and will offer Mexican customers the opportunity to travel to Brazil to during this event. Mundomex’s travel packages will include accommodation in the comfort of a cruise ship.
