(ATR) Tokyo 2020 marked the six-year countdown to the Paralympics by releasing a series of images showing how Japanese Paralympians embody the movement's values of courage, determination, inspiration and equality.
"Today, we celebrate an important milestone: in six years’ time, Tokyo will become the first city in history to host the Paralympic Games for the second time," said Hidetoshi Fujisawa, the organizing committee’s executive director of communications and engagement.
"Japanese Paralympians Choke Yasuoka, Mami Sato, Tomoki Tagawa, and Shinya Wada with his guide Takashi Nakata joined us to celebrate together the Paralympic Values of Courage, Determination, Inspiration and Equality.
"Together with them, let’s leverage these values. Para-athletes are role models who inspire the youth of the world and we are eager to welcome them in Tokyo in 2020, exactly six years from now."
