Tokyo, 24 April 2013 - Tokyo City Symphony, the newly launched website (http://tokyocitysymphony.com) which is the world's first ever 3D projection mapping art on a 1:1000 miniature model of Tokyo, became the latest example of a wide range of innovations that maintains Tokyo's position as the world's most forward-thinking city.
Tokyo City Symphony is a pioneering online platform where users can "play" using their PC keyboards like a piano. The website, launched by Mori Building, one of Japan's most distinguished urban developers, commemorates the popular mega-complex Roppongi Hills' 10-year anniversary.
Tokyo 2020 CEO and Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) Vice President Masato Mizuno said: "Tokyo City Symphony is a breathtaking concept to allow the world to explore our magnificent city through a dramatic fusion of music and color. It is visually stunning and is another demonstration of Tokyo being at the forefront of the world's innovations. Our Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games plan employs a similarly engaging process that fuses our people's passion for sport with a festival atmosphere of celebration throughout the entire city, including venues, fan trails, live sites and more."
The constantly revamped 1:1000 miniature model of Tokyo was also used during the 2009 IOC (International Olympic Committee) Evaluation Commission visit.
