The year 2014 is coming to an end after several important milestones for the Olympic Movement and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee. Since our launch in January, the Tokyo 2020 team has been working tirelessly to further refine and implement our plans, and our preparations are on course for the delivery of a truly memorable Games.
The year 2015 will also see several key moments. These begin with our celebrations for the ‘2020 days to go until the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games’ countdown event, which takes place on 12 January. Actually, this date coincides with Coming of Age Day in Japan, when young people who have turned 20 years old in the past year gather to mark reaching the age of majority. We plan to leverage this important milestone to further engage the young people of Japan in the Tokyo 2020 Games.
