(ATR) Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Tissot is commemorating the 2014 FIBA World Cup with a limited edition watch.
The Tissot Quickster FIBA Limited Edition 2014 features FIBA's black-and-orange color scheme and the event logo engraved on the caseback. Only 2,014 of the watches will be produced.
"Being associated with such an international sport as basketball underlines our dynamic nature," Tissot president François Thiebaud said in a statement.
The 2014 FIBA World Cup takes place Aug. 30 - Sept. 14 in Spain.
Atos Work at YOG Site Continues
TOP sponsor Atos marked 30 days until the beginning of the Youth Olympic Games with an update on its work in Nanjing.
The IT systems at the Games site are "right on track," says a release.
On-site work includes making technology accessible to nearly 30,000 athletes, officials, media, and volunteers at 32 venues.
"We are committed to making this YOG another resounding success," said Atos CEO Herbert Leung.
Atos has been a TOP sponsor since 2001 and recently renewed its deal through 2024.
Team South Africa Taking Off with South African Airways
The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee will take to the air with South African Airways.
The deal last through the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
"The issue of travel is always a vital part of our planning and strategy," SASCOC president Gideon Sam said in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
"This generous gesture will enable our athletes to test themselves against the very best in the world."
Chinese Asian Games Ticket Sales
Chinese e-commercecompany Alibaba Group Holding LTD will distribute Incheon Asian Games tickets in China.
Zhang Jianfeng, the vice president of Alibaba Group Holdings, signed a contract for the sale of Asian Games tickets with Kwon Kyungsang, the secretary general of the Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee, in Beijing on Tuesday. Tickets will be sold on Alibaba's Taobao website.
"It is very meaningful and important to sign this contract with Taobao at a time when the Incheon Asian Games are nearing," Kwon told reporters at the signing ceremony.
The Incheon Asian Games are scheduled for Sept. 19 - Oct. 4.
