The Wrocław Organizing Committee (WOC) has announced the sale of tickets for the largest sporting event of the year in Poland - The World Games 2017. From the 20th to the 30th of July, Wrocław will be the host city of the 10th edition of this multi-sports event, comprising 31 sports which will bring together an estimated 4,000 athletes from more than 100 countries around the globe.
The sale of tickets was launched on February 23rd during a press conference held at the Polish Olympic Committee headquarters in Warsaw. Andrzej Kraśnicki, President of the Polish Olympic Committee, Deputy Mayor of Wrocław Wojciech Adamski, Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism Jarosław Stawiarski and WOC’s President Marcin Przychodny attended the conference.
Tickets will be made available for purchase on WOC’s ticketing partner’s website www.ebilet.pl as well as at a variety of other ticket locations around Poland. (For a full list of Ticket Centres, please visit www.ebilet.pl)
The price of tickets for many of the competitions will start from $3, with DanceSport (Centennial Hall) and Speedway racing (Olympic Stadium) competitions priced slightly higher (starting from $13 and $20). See the table below for details. Please bear in mind that the prices in the table are indicated as "starting from" and may rise as sales progress. The prices are indicated in the Polish currency Zloty (PLN). 1 Euro equals 4.30 PLN and 1$ equals 4PLN, as of 21.02.2017.
Tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremony will be available shortly. This will be announced on the IWGA webpage.
The WOC has also prepared an offer of half-price tickets, as well as family passes available to parents with three or more children. Regardless of the number of children (two, three, four or more), one child always enters free of charge.
Discounted (half-price) tickets may be purchased by full- or part-time students (regardless of age) and by pensioners over the age of 60. Children up to the age of 6 always enter free of charge.
Fans with special needs may also purchase half-price tickets, and if he or she requires additional help, the person’s assistant pays only a symbolic entrance fee of 0.30 $.
For fans of sports where competitions last more than two days, there will also be the opportunity to buy multiple entrance passes. It is also worth noting that for competitions lasting several hours, the WOC has prepared special (morning or afternoon) session passes. This is the case for Beach Handball, American Football, Bowling, Finswimming, Flying Disc, Floorball, Karate, Kickboxing, Sport Climbing and Tug of War.
Some competitions will be open to the public free of charge, including most Archery and all the Wakeboard/Waterski competitions. In some cases, the exact start times of the competitions at some venues may be slightly altered.
A separate pool of tickets has been reserved for members of the international sport federations represented at The World Games 2017, granting them the first right of purchase. Depending on the federation, affiliated persons may obtain normal entrance passes, VIP tickets or multiple-entrance passes. The Wrocław Organising Committee will shortly announce the deadline for federations to purchase tickets from the reserved pool. The WOC will also be prepared to make more tickets available for federation use, if it becomes clear that interest exceeds the size of the current pool.
Tickets are available for purchase on WOC’s ticketing partner’s website here as well as at a variety of other ticket locations around Poland.
