The Sochi 2014 Olympic Torch Relay in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

56 torchbearers covered a distance of 33.9 kilometers in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Among the Olympic torchbearers were nominees of the Sochi 2014 Relay Presenting Partners the Coca-Cola Company, OSAO "Ingosstrakh" and OAO "Russian Railways".

Day 37 of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Torch Relay began with Honored Master of Sports in swimming, member of the Russian national team, and holder of 22 national records in various disciplines of swimming, Ruslan Lebedev, aboard the Afina ship off the coast of Avachinskaya Bay. At the entrance to the Avacha Bay there is a set of three rocks « Tri brata» (three brothers). This picturesque stack is considered a symbol of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The Sochi 2014 Relay continued at the biathlon complex, which annually stages the prestigious tournament among the strongest shooting skiers in memory of honored coach of Russia Vitaly Fatyanov.

Torchbearers of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky included the winner of the Paralympic Games in swimming Roman Dubovoy, writer Valery Kravchenko, Nikita and Maksim Kiselev, Lyudmila Agranovskaya, and famous people of the city, athletes and veterans of sport. Larisa Soboleva - Russian Cup-winner in ski-mountaineering - lit the Olympic Cauldron, which was presented to the city yesterday by Sochi 2014 Relay Presenting Partner OSAO "Ingosstrakh".

On November 14, the Sochi 2014 Olympic Torch Relay will go to the island of Sakhalin. At one stage, the torchbearer will travel with the Olympic Torch on roller skis.
