Frankfurt/Riga, 21st March 2013 – The Frankfurt-based specialist logistics company Conceptum Sport Logistics (CSL – http://www.conceptum-sport-logistics.com/) is demonstrating its sport and cultural event logistics expertise in a further cooperation agreement. A multi-year contract between Latvia’s National Olympic Committee (http://www.olimpiade.lv/) and the international company has sealed the relationship. The contract hands Conceptum Sport Logistics responsibility for all transport and logistics for the teams under the aegis of the Committee. The Committee has existed in Latvia since 1922 and was again officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1991 after the fall of the Soviet Union.
Beyond Igors Vihrovs who won the first Olympic gold for Latvia in the modern era in 2000 at the Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, the Latvians also hold the first, second and only BMX Olympic title - won by Maris Strombergs. The German logistics company will give the Olympic teams access to a global specialist logistics network for sports equipment and teams at one of the most important events in the coming year – the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 where Conceptum Sport Logistics will be providing support for teams from around the world. Transport from training camp to any location in the world is daily routine for the specialist logistics company, and not just for sports equipment. Complete team facilities are also part of the job, as well as flights and hotels for athletes and their staff. Sebastian Stahl, Managing Director of the cultural event logistics expert Conceptum Sport Logistics, is delighted to add a further milestone to the company’s history: "We provide athletes with exactly what they need – reliable logistics for the entire team. That means sport can be the focus, not the transport of your own sports gear," says the head of logistics.
As a logistics partner, Conceptum Sport Logistics is already working for a number of teams in almost all disciplines across five continents – with packed sports equipment over 50 million kilometres were covered in 2012. Even more miles will be added within the next year – the Olympic Games are a challenge for the Conceptum team. As the official partner of a number of sports federations and teams, the company is prepared: its own office in Sochi and test transports for the pre-events have demonstrated the company’s ability to handle the volume.
