The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) Appoints UAE's Dr Ahmed Al Sharif as Continental Vice-Chairman for Asia

The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) has appointed UAE’s Dr Ahmed Al Sharif was elected as continental vice-chairman for Asia.

This came during the second Board of Director meeting in its new cycle under the presidency of Bahrain’s Isa Abdulrahim and was held in Athens recently. On this occasion, Abdulrahim congratulated Al Sharif, who has been actively involved in sport for the last 15 years and is expected to increase the publicity of Sports for All in the highest populated countries in the world.

With his active role, FISpT would probably have additional millions of participants in sport for all. Abdulrahim and other board members discussed a number of topics on their agenda, as Kuwait was approved to host an advanced level coaching course in 2015.

The beginners level course will take place in Greece the same year, while Egypt is due to organize an advancing course for the administrative next year.

The board also granted Turkey to hold the annual FISpT second festival in October this year, as Cyprus, Greece and the UAE will embrace the next three editions, from 2014 to 2016, respectively.

A comprehensive plan to activate the electronic email of the federation has been reviewed, and features a number of social networking applications, while is expected to be launched later this month.

Also present at the meeting were general secretary Dr Tareq Al Shebani, Kuwait’s Mishal Al Subaie, UAE’s Saeed Al Ajel, Dr Farooq Abdulqahab of Egypt, Ionna Moraiti and George Pigos of Greece, Turkey’s Dr. Erdal Zorba, Franco Ascani of Italy and Cameroon’s Ebrahim Oumate.

The FISpT has a number of objective set up as a target, such as organising international "sport for All" meetings by means of symposia, conferences, regional and international seminar and congresses, informative weeks, of adventure and sport explorations and study trips.

It also aims to organise training courses and in-service training for Sport All leaders, create the most favourable conditions so that they can accomplish their task and promote the "leaders without frontiers" programme.

Developing and Supporting the implementation of "sport for All "programs Stimulate "Sport for All" Sponsorship as well as organising events, sports festivals, games, international "sport for All" Journeys and promote sport tourism in general are some of the federation objectives.
