The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), the not-for-profit institution that specialises in sport security and integrity, announced today, the appointment of Malcolm Tarbitt as the organization’s new Director of Security and Risk Advisory.
Malcolm joins the ICSS following a distinguished career in the sporting events and security sectors. He has over 30 years experience and has recently overseen the successful delivery and project management of a number of major international sporting events, including the 2011 Arab Games and 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™.
In addition to his experiences at the heart of major sporting events, Malcolm has extensive experience as an advisor to a number of major event bids and special projects, including the 2004 Cape Town Olympic Bid, South Africa’s 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup Bids, the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup, the 2005 IWCC Cricket World Cup and 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.
Malcolm will lead the ‘Security and Risk Advisory’ team at the ICSS, which provides clients with integrated advisory services and bespoke solutions to their security requirements. Activities include risk and scenario analysis, security and venue master planning, procurement specification and benchmarking, standards and compliance checking and testing programs.

It follows the recent arrivals of Chris Eaton, Director, Sport Integrity and Massimiliano Montanari, Director, International Cooperation and External Relations. Alongside ‘Security and Risk Advisory’, the ICSS now offers clients ‘Research and Knowledge Gathering’, ‘Sport Integrity’ and ‘Training’ services, all under the guidance of Helmut Spahn, Executive Director, former Chief Security Officer of the German Football Association and Head of Security for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™.
