FOM has officially confirmed the exact time of the start of the 2015 FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX. The Russian round of the Formula 1 Championship will start on 11 October, at 2:00 p.m. Moscow Time.
Sergey Vorobyev said, "This year the Grand Prix will start at 2:00 p.m. We will have an opportunity to watch the fascinating Formula 1 race one day and one hour earlier than we did last year. A lot of motorsport fans are already making flight reservations for the Russian Grand Prix, so this news will allow them to effectively plan their race weekend". The spectators will see the drivers, cars and teams competing again and will enjoy the unique show with concerts, entertainment, souvenirs and other elements associated with the world of the Grand Prix.
The first racing season of Sochi Autodrom has already demonstrated how popular and successful the most state of the art Russian motorsport complex is. Beginning with September 2014 the racetrack in the Olympic Park, which has won an award for the "Motorsport Facility of the Year", has held over 20 international, national and regional sports events, as well as a lot of corporate events. More than 200 thousand spectators and participants have visited the Autodrom.
During these January holidays, 10,000 people visited the circuit, and this weekend will provide another opportunity for all the motorsport fans and guests of the Olympic Park to immerse themselves into the world of racing.
17-18 January 2015, the Autodrom visitors will have a chance to complete a lap at Sochi Autodrom in a sporting roadster Mazda MX5 Aori driven by a professional racing driver, or to test the track in their own cars. The unique collection of the Museum of Sports and Classical Cars will delight those interested in rare cars. Tours around the Autodrom will again be available, allowing every visitor to have a look inside the very heart of the motorsport complex.
