The city of Taranto in Italy is officially a candidate city for the organization of the XX Mediterranean Games in 2025.
On July 15, the deadline for submitting bids for the Mediterranean Games expired and the city of southern Italy and the wider area of Apulia, with the support of the Italian Olympic Committee, was the only one to submit the candidature file for hosting the Games.
The file will be sent to the 26 National Olympic Committees of the Mediterranean countries in the next days, as stipulated in the statutes, so they will be informed about the proposal of the Italian city to organize the Games.
The decision to award the 2025 Mediterranean Games will be made on August 24 in Patras during the General Assembly of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games, after the detailed presentation of the Candidate City.
The 2021 Mediterranean Games will take place in Oran, Algeria.
