(ATR) The host of the 2017 Asian Youth Games will not be reconsidered.
The Sri Lankan cities of Colombo and Hambantota were reconfirmed as host cities for the games by Olympic Council of Asia president Sheikh Ahmad on Tuesday.
Ahmad met with Asian Youth Games Organizing Committee president Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Sri Lankan National Olympic Committee president Hemasiri Fernando, NOC secretary general Maxwell de Silva and Sri Lankan sports ministers to discuss progress on the event.
In March, Sri Lanka received a three-month deadline to make progress on the games.
At the time, the organizing committee told ATR no progress had been made due to a spat with the Sri Lankan NOC and the sports ministries.
A final decision on the sports program and venues for the 2017 Asian Youth Games will be decided at the OCA General Assembly on September 20 in Incheon, South Korea.
