STAMFORD, Conn. - In partnership with NBC Olympics and in support of the United States Olympic Committee and U.S. winter sport national governing bodies (NGBs), SportsEngine — a division of NBC Sports Group — utilized its massive youth sports directory to drive nearly 280,000 unique users to NGB sites during PyeongChang 2018, a 64% increase over Sochi 2014 (169,000 unique users).

In addition, more than 1.1 million unique users visited and searched SportsEngine.com during the Games experience. The site connected kids who were inspired while watching the Olympics with thousands of youth winter sports programs across the country, helping them start their own Olympic journey.

During its coverage of the Winter Games and U.S. Olympic Trials, NBC Olympics integrated a series of promotional messages into its multi-platform coverage that prompted today’s youth to get involved in Olympic winter sports, driving viewers to SportsEngine.com.

Once at SportsEngine.com, parents were able to search, compare, and sign up for youth sports programs in their areas with information for 15 Olympic and Paralympic winter sports as well as 55 other youth sporting activities.

"The Olympic and Paralympic Games and athletes of Team USA are incredibly inspiring, and we are thrilled that kids and parents were able to act on that inspiration by engaging through SportsEngine, TeamUSA.org and the individual national governing bodies," said Brian Gordon, USOC vice president of marketing.

"Connecting today's youth with opportunities to learn about and participate in sport is good for the future of the NGBs - and good for the future of Team USA."

Launched in 2017 with 20 different sports, SportsEngine.com now contains more than 100,000 youth sports listings spanning across 70 different sports for youth and amateur athletes in the U.S. and Canada.
