LAUSANNE, Switzerland – The Sports Bureau of Macau SAR Government has renewed its

long-running Gold Partner status at SportAccord’s World Sport and Business Summit for the 2020

edition of the international sports movement’s most influential global gathering in Beijing, China.

The Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government has an established presence at SportAccord, having

supported the event since the 2008 edition in Athens, Greece.

As a Gold Partner once again next year, the Sports Bureau will be provided with a prestigious

platform to connect with attendees from across the sporting world who will come together for a

week of high-level meetings, engaging conferences and a bustling exhibition, from 19-24 April,

2020.

With the 2020 SportAccord World Sport and Business Summit set to shine a spotlight on the region

and its sports development strategies, the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government will be ideally

placed to link up with new and established connections at the China National Convention Center

(CNCC).

The Sports Bureau seeks to promote sport at all levels with athletes and citizens alike. It focuses on

creating the necessary conditions for the development of sport and plays an active role between

sports associations as well as encouraging citizens to lead a healthy lifestyle.

unwavering support for 13 uninterrupted years illustrates the organisation’s commitment, not only

to SportAccord and the World Sport and Business Summit, but also to staying at the forefront of the

international sporting community’s minds."

"With a strategy that enables people to participate in sport from grassroots to elite levels, as well as

hosting international sport events, Macau is a key contender as an international sports destination.

We are grateful for their continued involvement and support as they build on a relationship with

SportAccord that is becoming closer every year."

With registration open for the 18th annual SportAccord event, interest from delegates and

exhibitors is gathering momentum as Beijing prepares to welcome back sports industry

stakeholders, including International Sport Federations, agencies, commercial entities and experts

by becoming only the second city, after Lausanne in Switzerland, to have hosted the event on two

occasions.

Pun Weng Kun, President of the Sports Bureau of Macao SAR Government added: "We are

honoured to return again as one of the Gold Partners, as we look forward to enhancing Macau’s

Business Summit."
